Free Farm Stand: On Mondays from 10-1 from June through October, stop by 2823 Fairfax Street to either pick up some free produce or bring by your own excess produce to be distributed
Park Hill Garden Walk: Stroll through the gardens of Park Hill on June 23rd from 9-3 and get inspired by the “urban farms” consisting of chickens, bee hives, and produce as well as the increasingly popular xeric-style yards. Tickets are $15 in advance, $12 for seniors (65+) and free for children under 12.
Park Hill 4th of July Parade: Enjoy the 50+ groups that parade alone 23rd Ave consisting of floats, marching bands, and classic cars on July 4th at 1:30 pm.
Must-See Places:
Park Hill Community Bookstore: This old, three-story brick, neighborhood staple has been open for the past 48 years and is full of more than 30,000 books (new and used) in every category. It serves as a reminder of the importance of literature and community.
The Denver Zoo: Park Hill just happens to be a short bike ride away from the Denver Zoo, home to more than 4,000 animals including Asian elephants and African lions.
The Denver Museum of Nature and Science: Another bike ride away from Park Hill residences is an interactive museum with displays of premier natural history and world class exhibitions as well as the IMAX theater.
For the Fitness Guru:
City Park: Make your way over to City Park located a few blocks away from South Park Hill and take a jog or walk your dog around the 3.3 mile loop.
Biking: South Park Hill is lined with bike lanes and seems to be the main mode of transportation on the weekends especially with groups like Park Hill Peloton that organizes group rides.
